The most perfect beach

Just spent the last two days at the most beautiful beach, at the northern tip of Zanzibar. White sand, clear aqua water, Dhow boats (old-fashioned fishing sailboats) sailing by, pina coladas in the beach chair, fresh seafood… And then a guy walked by and sold us a bunch of lychee fruits, and our bliss was complete.

Kaethe and I came back to Stonetown today so we could go on one of the famous spice tours tomorrow, and left the boys behind at the perfect beach. Last we heard they were out on a snorkeling trip.

Tonight K and I went to an open practice for the Cultural Music Club, an awesome traditional Taraab band that we are now totally “bros” with, as Kaethe would say. We’re jamming with them again tomorrow afternoon after the spice tour, and vow to get the audio recorder working before then… They’ve been teaching us so many awesome songs…
